Renew Your Minds: Fasting Day 4

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

Thank you for fasting this week.

Today is day four of our week's fasting as we fast to renew our minds. 

Day 4 Scripture: Matthew 6:16-18 (AMP)

Matthew 6:16-18 (AMP Bible) states that:

"And whenever you are fasting, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they put on a sad and dismal face [like actors, discoloring their faces with ashes or dirt] so that their fasting may be seen by men. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, they [already] have their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head [as you normally would to groom your hair] and wash your face so that your fasting will not be noticed by people, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you."

Matthew 6:16-18 reminds us believers that fasting should not be about seeking recognition or praise from others, but rather about seeking a deeper relationship with God.

Ask yourself: Am I seeking a deeper relstionship with God?

Fasting Lesson: 

During your fast, it is important to not seek recognition or praise from others, but rather to focus on seeking a deeper relationship with God.

Let us pray : 

Dear Lord, as I break my fast, I ask for your help in keeping my motives pure and focused on seeking a deeper relationship with you. Help me to not seek recognition or praise from others, but rather to seek your approval alone. Amen.

With this gospel message, lesson  and prayer I believe you have been Church Built and Healed for your good and the glory of the LORD ALMIGHTY.
