Renew Your Minds: Fasting Day 6

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

Thank you for fasting this week.

Today is day six of our week's fasting as we fast to renew our minds. 

Day 6 Scripture: Ephesians 4:22-24 (AMP)

Ephesians 4:22-24 states that:

"In terms of your former way of life, you were [emotionally] dead [spiritually and morally corrupted], and separated from the life that is in Christ, because of your ignorance and stubbornness [in clinging to sin]. But now change your inner self [by bringing your old self-discipline under subjection to Christ’s control]; accept the forgiveness of sins and the new life that Christ has given you, and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation]."

Ephesians 4:22-24 reminds you as a believer that through Christ Jesus, you have been given a new life and a new nature, and that you should therefore live in a way that expresses gratitude for your salvation.

Fasting Lesson: 

During your fast, it is important to not only renew the mind, but also to renew the inner self and put on the new nature that has been given through Christ.

Ask yourself: Through this fasting, have I renewed my inner self and put on the new nature that I receive through Christ?

Let us pray: 

Dear LORD, as I break my fast, I ask for your helping hand in renewing my inner self and putting on the new nature that Christ has given me. Make a clean heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Help me to live in such a way that I can express my gratitude for my salvation and honor you with my life. Let my words and my heart's meditation be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. All in Christ Jesus Mighty name, as it is written in Ephesians 4:22-24, Psalm 51:10, and Psalm 19:14, I have prayed. 

Amen.
