Renew Your Minds: Fasting Day 7

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

Thank you for fasting this week. 

Today is the last day of our fasting week and the day we hold our monthly Healing Seeding Prayer service.

Today is day 7 of our week's fasting as we fast to renew our minds. 

Day 7 Scripture: Colossians 3:1-2 (AMP)

Colossians 3:1-2 states that:

"Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]."

Colossians 3:1-2 reminds believers to keep their focus on heavenly things, rather than earthly things that have only temporal value.

Fasting Lesson: 

During a fast, it is important to not only renew the mind, but also to keep the focus on heavenly things and to seek the things that are above.

Let us pray:

Dear LORD, as I break my fast, I ask for your help in keeping my focus on heavenly things and seeking the things that are above. Help me to not be distracted by earthly things. I come to you in prayer and ask for your guidance and strength. I thank you for the sustaining power you have provided during this time of fasting, and for the opportunity to draw closer to you.

I pray that you will help me to keep my focus on heavenly things, as your Word instructs us in Colossians 3:1-2. Please help me to seek the things that are above, where Christ Jesus is seated at your right hand.

LORD, I confess that it is easy for me to become distracted by earthly things. I ask for your help in turning my attention away from the things of this world, and towards the things that are eternal.

Please grant me the wisdom to discern what is truly important, and the strength to resist the temptations that would pull me away from you. May my heart and mind be fixed on you, and may I be filled with your peace and joy as I seek to honor and serve you in all things.

Thank you, LORD, for your unfailing love and grace. I pray all of this in the precious name of my Lord Christ Jesus.

Amen.
