Worry Is Not Your Portion

Philippians 4:6 (AMP)

"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God."

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

Are you worried?
In case you are worried, please believe and trust in God Almighty for His full control over whatever it may be worrying you.
Worry is a common emotion that we all experience at some point in our lives. It is a feeling of unease or anxiety about something that may or may not happen in the future. However, as Christians, we are called to trust in God and not worry about anything.

The Bible tells us that worry is not our portion, and we should cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us. Hallelujah!
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today's Gospel message is about worry and how it is not our portion. Hallelujah!

As a believer, you are called to trust in God and not worry about anything. The Bible tells you in Philippians 4:6, "Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God."

Lets us understand this message in three points:

The first point:

Philippians 4:6 tells us that worrying does not change anything. Whenever you worry, whatever you worry about only causes you to feel anxious and stressed, which can lead to physical and emotional health problems. As a believer who has been drowned in worries, you need to trust in God and believe that He has everything under control, once you do this child of God, you shall have allowed God to deal with the worry and gradually God will take it off you. Therefore as you trust in God, pray about everything worrying and even those not worrying you yet.

The second point:

Philippians 4:6 is also telling us that as believers, we should pray about everything. Many times we tend to think that since God already knows what we are going through, then He should also also just fix our situations since He already knows. As a believer you ought to understand that even a non believer knows that God exists. What separates you the believer from the non believer is knowing that you have a worry bothering you and acknowleding it to God Almighty to deal with it. This believer you are going to do by praying. When you pray, you are acknowledging that you need God's help and that you cannot do everything on our own. It's in this sincere prayer that God expects you to make a supplication acknowledging that you have a worry that you surely believe you can not do away on your own but believe that with God's intervention nothing shall be impossible to be solved. You should make definite requests to God and thank Him for His faithfulness. Once that is done in your acknowledment and request by prayer, then focus next on the present in which God is working.

The third point:
Finally, Philippians 4:6 is telling us that we should focus on the present moment. Many times as believers we find ourselves in a position of dwelling on what we were stack in and things of the past yet God requires us to focus on the moment of the present in which you need God's intervention and how better you hope to be positioned by God thereafter. God needs you to understand that you as a believer you cannot change the past, and moreso you cannot control the future, therefore you need to fully believe and trust in Him as God since only He Himself can control everything for He is God. As a believer you should therefore focus on what you can do today and trust that God will take care of tomorrow.

In conclusion, as a believe refuse to be eatten away in worries as worry is not our portion. You should trust in God, pray about everything, and focus on the present moment. Let us pray together.

Let us pray:

Dear God in Heaven,
I thank you for your unwavering love and faithfulness. Grant me the courage to trust in you and relinquish all worries. May your healing touch bring renewed strength and vitality to me and all those who are burdened with fret and anxiety. I acknowledge your abundant provision and steadfast protection. In the mighty name of Christ Jesus, I have prayed. Amen.
