CHCM WEEKLY HOME FELLOWSHIP [WEEK 27 - 2020]: Praying guide for you to develop a faith that overcomes discrimination

WEEK 27 - 2020   christianhealingchurchministry@yahoo.com

Praise God Church!!

I greet you all from whatever location of the world you fellowship with us.

This week, I encourage you to pray for you and someone close to your heart out of trials and temptations. Many of the people around us and within us are faced with trials around this time and they need to be helped come out of them without hurting. Some have been praying and they are praying no more. Join us in encouraging them all, let us pray differently this week, for you who feels discriminated and abused, together through this week's prayer, let us choose faith and not discrimination. We share with you to go about it the way the LORD has guided us through.

Together in this week 27 - 2020 fellowship, let us overcome all discrimination you seem to be facing that is brought about by a variance of trials and temptations. As you fellowship through this day by day guide allow the Holy Spirit to guide you through for a healing.

Please share with at least 7 and whoever you can share with this practical and spirit - guided message to encourage them through trials and temptations by helping them develop a faith that overcomes discrimination as you reconcile them with the LORD.

Now be willing to allow the Holy Spirit develop a faith in you that overcomes discrimination through this week's fellowship:

Day 1 Refuse to be troubled by troubles

  • James 1:1-4 Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV)
"1 James, a bond servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
As you fellowship Note:  That your success is determined by your known perspective. Whatever you know and remember form your perspective. And your perspective is what feeds your faith.

Remember 4 things

1. Troubles are inevitable
2. Troubles are variable (relate 1 Peter 4:10 NKJV here)
3. Troubles are unpredictable
4. Troubles are purposeful
Understand that God uses difficulties or trials for good in your life. Note the 3 purposes of trouble in your life to understand how God does that (see James 1:3-4 NKJV

Note 3 purposes of trouble in your life:

1. Troubles test your faith
2. Troubles develop your endurance
3. Troubles mature your character (see James 1:4 NKJV
You must be wondering! Since troubles are purposeful in that sense, how does God want me to respond to troubles like discrimination.

Note 4 responses to troubles like discrimination:

1. Rejoice, knowing God can use the discrimination for your good (relate to Genesis 50:20 NKJV, Psalms 34:1 NKJVand Romans 8:28 NKJV)

2. Relax, asking God for wisdom to overcome the discrimination (see James 1:7 NKJV)
God gives wisdom to you who asks for the wisdom, so ask for wisdom from God. Ask God: What do you want me to learn from the discrimination? What good is there for me in the discrimination? While the devil wants to use discrimination to defeat you, believe me, God wants to use discrimination to develop you. To know how, as you fellowship, let the Holy Spirit guide you and be willing to ask God to show you the development for you in the discrimination. it could be integrity, it could be knowledge, it could be eliminating the weak spots on you, it could be self realization and maturity in a vast variance.

3. Rely on God, believing He will help (see James 1:8 NKJV. relate to Psalms 116:6-7 NKJV)
While you are asking God for anything, you should sincerely believe and expect God to answer without doubting God at all. Be willing to relax to allow God help you in your helpless time.

4. Refuse to quit, remembering God's promises and what God has put you through from the time of your birth up till your present day of breathe. (See James 1:12 NKJV)

Stay faithful and happy. Let sorrows not waste your happy mood. So remain faithful in troubles. Never waste your sorrow, suffering or troubles or temptations manifest in discrimination. Instead want to turn to God for help and be willing to let God teach you the development there is for you in the discrimination.

  • 1 Peter 4:10 Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV)
"10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

  • Psalms 34:1 Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV)
"1 A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth."

  • Romans 8:28 Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV)
"28 And we know that all things work together for good to those"

  • Psalms 116:6-7 Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV)
"6 The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. 7 Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you."
  • James 1:7-12 Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV)
"7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. 9 Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, 10 but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. 11 For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits. 12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

Day 2  Choose faith over discrimination, be unbiased and look only to God for your Help

  • Hosea 3:1-5 Holy Bible, GOD's WORD Translation (GW)
"1 Then the LORD told me, "Love your wife again, even though she is loved by others and has committed adultery. Love her as I, the LORD, love the Israelites, even though they have turned to other gods and love to eat raisin cakes." 2 So I bought her for 23 ounces of silver and 10 bushels of barley. 3 Then I told her, "You must wait for me a long time. Don't be a prostitute or offer yourself to any man. I will wait for you." 4 In the same way, the Israelites will wait a long time without kings or officials, without sacrifices or sacred stones, and without ephods or family idols. 5 After that, the Israelites will turn and look to the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD for his blessings in the last days."

  • Hebrews 7:9-12 Holy Bible, GOD's WORD Translation (GW)
"9 We could even say that when Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything, Levi was giving a tenth of everything. Levi gave, although later his descendants would receive a tenth of everything. 10 Even though Levi had not yet been born, he was in the body of Abraham when Melchizedek met him. 11 The people established the Levitical priesthood based on instructions they received. If the work of the Levitical priests had been perfect, we wouldn't need to speak about another kind of priest. However, we speak about another kind of priest, a priest like Melchizedek, not a Levitical priest like Aaron. 12 When a different kind of priesthood is established, the regulations for those priests are different."
  • James 2:2-7 Holy Bible, GOD's WORD Translation (GW)
"2 For example, two men come to your worship service. One man is wearing gold rings and fine clothes; the other man, who is poor, is wearing shabby clothes. 3 Suppose you give special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say to him, "Please have a seat." But you say to the poor man, "Stand over there," or "Sit on the floor at my feet." 4 Aren't you discriminating against people and using a corrupt standard to make judgments? 5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! Didn't God choose poor people in the world to become rich in faith and to receive the kingdom that he promised to those who love him? 6 Yet, you show no respect to poor people. Don't rich people oppress you and drag you into court? 7 Don't they curse the good name [of Jesus], the name that was used to bless you?"
  • Jeremiah 22:3 Holy Bible, GOD's WORD Translation (GW)
"3 "This is what the LORD says: Judge fairly, and do what is right. Rescue those who have been robbed from those who oppress them. Don't mistreat foreigners, orphans, or widows, and don't oppress them. Don't kill innocent people in this place."

Day 3 Develop the love of God by loving the living God and what God loves

  • Matthew 6:24 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"24 "You cannot be a slave of two masters; you will hate one and love the other; you will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

  • Galatians 3:25-29 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"25 Now that the time for faith is here, the Law is no longer in charge of us. 26 It is through faith that all of you are God's children in union with Christ Jesus. 27 You were baptized into union with Christ, and now you are clothed, so to speak, with the life of Christ himself. 28 So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised."

  • Galatians 4:6-7 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"6 To show that you are his children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who cries out, "Father, my Father." 7 So then, you are no longer a slave but a child. And since you are his child, God will give you all that he has for his children."

  • Proverbs 6:12 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"12 Worthless, wicked people go around telling lies."

  • Proverbs 6:16 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"16 There are seven things that the Lord hates and cannot tolerate: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that kill innocent people, a mind that thinks up wicked plans, feet that hurry off to do evil, a witness who tells one lie after another, and someone who stirs up trouble among friends."

Day 4 Live by the truth, Treat everyone by the same standard God accords, and ask God for guidance

  • Romans 2:9-11 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"9 There will be suffering and pain for all those who do what is evil, for the Jews first and also for the Gentiles. 10 But God will give glory, honor, and peace to all who do what is good, to the Jews first and also to the Gentiles. 11 For God judges everyone by the same standard."

  • 1 John 2:11-12, 18-23 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"11 But if we hate others, we are in the darkness; we walk in it and do not know where we are going, because the darkness has made us blind. 12 I write to you, my children, because your sins are forgiven for the sake of Christ. 18 My children, the end is near! You were told that the Enemy of Christ would come; and now many enemies of Christ have already appeared, and so we know that the end is near. 19 These people really did not belong to our fellowship, and that is why they left us; if they had belonged to our fellowship, they would have stayed with us. But they left so that it might be clear that none of them really belonged to us. 20 But you have had the Holy Spirit poured out on you by Christ, and so all of you know the truth. 21 I write you, then, not because you do not know the truth; instead, it is because you do know it, and you also know that no lie ever comes from the truth. 22 Who, then, is the liar? It is those who say that Jesus is not the Messiah. Such people are the Enemy of Christ - they reject both the Father and the Son. 23 For those who reject the Son reject also the Father; those who accept the Son have the Father also."

  • Jeremiah 10:5-7, 21 Holy Bible, Good News Translation (GNT)
"5 Such idols are like scarecrows in a field of melons; they cannot speak; they have to be carried because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of them: they can cause you no harm, and they can do you no good." 6 Lord, there is no one like you; you are mighty, and your name is great and powerful. 7 Who would not honor you, the king of all nations? You deserve to be honored. There is no one like you among all the wise men of the nations or among any of their kings. 21 I answered, "Our leaders are stupid; they do not ask the Lord for guidance. This is why they have failed, and our people have been scattered."

Day 5 Be humble and sincere, let Christ's love control you, and seek God's grace as God's power works best when you are faced with discrimination

  • 2 Corinthians 5:12-15 Holy Bible, New Living Translation (NLT)
"12 Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart. 13 If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. 14 Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. 15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them."

  • 2 Corinthians 12:5-11 Holy Bible, New Living Translation (NLT)
"5 That experience is worth boasting about, but I’m not going to do it. I will boast only about my weaknesses. 6 If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message, 7 even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 11 You have made me act like a fool. You ought to be writing commendations for me, for I am not at all inferior to these “super apostles,” even though I am nothing at all."

Note: When you are discriminated against

  • Have a sincere heart before God
  • Glorify God with your actions
  • Let you be controlled by the love of Jesus christ (Be yoked and bonded by the power of God)
  • Never please yourself as a follower of Jesus Christ
  • Talk about your weaknesses with those who care and God
  • Always speak the truth
  • Endeavor to be humble
  • Don't look at how people speak focus on the message and the actions
  • Always be ready and alert by allowing Jesus control you
  • Seek God's favor amidst troubles
  • In your weakness is where God manifests His power on you
  • No onw should look down on you

Day 6 Be selfless and endure through with God if the fiery cloud of discrimination should be lifted

  • Phillipians 2:4-6 Holy Bible, New Living Translation (NLT)
"4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to."

  • Numbers 10:11-12 Holy Bible, New Living Translation (NLT)
"11 In the second year after Israel’s departure from Egypt—on the twentieth day of the second month —the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle of the Covenant. 12 So the Israelites set out from the wilderness of Sinai and traveled on from place to place until the cloud stopped in the wilderness of Paran."

  • Jeremiah 10:19 Holy Bible, New Living Translation (NLT)

"19 My wound is severe, and my grief is great. My sickness is incurable, but I must bear it."

  • Galatians 6:12-18 Holy Bible, New Living Translation (NLT)

"12 Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save. 13 And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples. 14 As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died. 15 It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation. 16 May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God. 17 From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus. 18 Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen."

 God bless you

    Having Faith amidst Troubles

    christianhealingchurchministry@yahoo.com

    Praise God Church!!

Today let your focus be mainly on the book of James. This book was written by the half brother of Jesus Christ. As we look at the book of James, let us be taught how to have faith amidst troubles. Remember the time James wrote this book was a time of actual trouble, a time when being a Christian would earn you death as the Roman Empire at the time was hunting down anyone who then was known to be a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. James 1:1 NKJV informs you of the same where James writes:
"To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings." (James 1:1 NKJV)
Believers were scattered everywhere so as to survive the hunt from the Roman Empire. James in writing, therefore, provided the needed encouragement at the time. It is the same encouragement we need when in trouble today. We each ought to question the attitude we dress on whenever we are overflowed with tough times.

The book of James when briefly looked at, we find out that it covers every possible emotion you or your friend or relative could be feeling. It gives us guidelines on how to live through troubles and related attacks that come with them. It encourages us on how to activate our faith when life seems not to be working any more when you seem to be stranded in your life.

The book of James informs you to focus on:
    • What you remember?
    • What you actually feel?
    • What you have to be and do whenever overflowed by trouble?
Let you learn from James 1:2-4 GNT

"My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." (James 1:2-4 GNT)

Child of God, whenever trials or troubles crowd your life James encourages us not to resent them as intruders for you instead ought to consider yourself fortunate of blessed to face them. As such welcome them as friends realizing that they come to test your faith that when you succeed in facing the troubles, these same troubles are the ones that produce in you a result which stirs in you the ability and quality of endurance required of you. Therefore since it is intended to make good of you, ensure you know the process of endurance or baring the burden that comes with the trouble on you is embraced by you allowing it to go on all the way without fail only until the needed endurance is fully developed [That means you being perfect, complete and lacking nothing at all]. Only then can you be a person of mature character and integrity with no weak spots.

You have to understand that your success through trials or troubles is determined by whatever you know or realize. Whatever you know and remember is the perspective you need. As such, it is this knowledge or perspective that you eventually need to feed into your faith.

Having said this, drawing from the book of James, whenever you are overflowed into troubles it is important to know and remember four things when in trouble:

    # 1. Know and remember that Trouble is inevitable
Instead of running from it, you have to count on it. The reality has to be faced that no one is exempt from trouble. Just the grace of God keeps us safe from it. Trouble is actually a required cause to shape up.

    # 2. Know and remember that Trouble is variable.
Trouble comes in various forms, it is diverse. It is variant and can be in the forms and shapes or multiples sizes of:
    • Integrity
    • Frequency and
    • Duration [How long it takes before you can overcome it with the grace and power of the living God]
    1 Peter 4:10 NIV says:
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." (1 Peter 4:10 NIV)
Let you be open-minded and use your special God-given gifts to overcome the various forms of troubles with the various gifts accorded to you by the living God.
    # 3. Know and remember that Trouble is never predictable.
It is important to know that no one can plan for trouble or be ready for trouble. It just befalls you at any time. If it is meant to happen, it will defy all your plans. Besides God who is all-knowing, and by whom we are safe amidst troubles, you have to stick by your faith to go past all troubles since they are unplanned and inadvertent.

    # 4. Know and remember that Trouble is purposeful

Know it that stress, trouble or temptations, in this case, can produce good in you only if you have the right perspective. You, therefore, have to develop the right perspective from what you know and remember as perspective will inform your faith or hope and belief.

See God uses the trials, troubles, temptations, and all sorts of difficulties you face for the good in your life. You must be asking! How does God do that? How does God use difficulties that befall me for my good?

Let us find our answers in James 1:3-4 GNT. The book of James shows us the purposes of trouble in our lives. There are 3 notable purposes of trouble in your life as picked out of James 1:3-4 GNT.

3 Purposes of trouble in your life

    # Purpose 1. Troubles test your faith
Trouble pushes you to the limits. It makes you think outside the normal. It forces you out of your comfort and makes you flex your faith muscles and be stretched. It pushes you to ask the question: Am I going to trust God with my life amidst this trouble that I am facing? Yes, you have to trust God, even more, when faced with trouble, it is the purpose. This has happened to believers like Job who was tested and God restored him, like Joseph who was sold to slavery and God restored him.

    # Purpose 2. Troubles develop your endurance

Look back at James 1:3 GNT. By endurance, the purpose of troubles on you is to check you and strengthen you so that you stay in control so that you remain steadfast in the faith. The more you learn to handle pressure and troubles and how you actually handle the actual pressure and troubles is by experiencing the actual troubles and pressures. This is a necessary discipleship character needed of you as a believer and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a rare quality trait that is much needed. Most people, when faced with trouble, give up quickly. So God teaches you not to quit or give up. You have to keep walking forward beside the pressure that comes along with the troubles that you are overflowed with.

    # Purpose 3. Troubles Mature your Character

See James 1:4 NLT, GNT. Trouble checks your integrity and Weak spots. It allows you to appreciate situations the way they come.

By maturing your character, this leads to something else. It leads us to how you would respond to your troubles. So how does God want you to respond to your troubles, trials, temptations, pandemic of sorts?

How you need to respond to troubles

See while some of you go bitter whenever faced with an overflow of troubles, learn from the book of James on how to respond to troubles.

    # Response 1. Rejoice, Know God can use the trouble

You need to know and understand that God can use anything. In Genesis 50:20 NLT after Joseph overcoming trouble, he said to his brothers, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people." Therefore learn to rejoice and embrace the trouble like Joseph did as this will enrich the truth you know as your faith is developed. In Psalms 34:1 NLT David says, " I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak his praises." Amidst all flows of troubles, be encouraged to persevere and continue worshipping and praising God as you keep in prayer to strengthen your faith. In Romans 8:28 GNT
"We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose."
Therefore regardless of the trouble, continue to Love the LORD your God, pray, praise and continue to worship and his purpose on you shall be manifest.

    # Response 2. Relax, ask God for wisdom and understanding

    See James 1:5-7 GNT
"But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to allBut when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the windIf you are like that, unable to make up your mind and undecided in all you do, you must not think that you will receive anything from the Lord." (James 1:5-7 GNT)
You must be decided and like Ruth in the book of Ruth make up your mind if you intend to receive anything from God. The promise to you is that God gives to you who decides to ask through prayer and in prayers with no doubt at all. In other words, once faced with an overflow of troubles, Do not ask why questions? Instead, ask What questions? Ask: What do you want me to learn from these troubles God?

Understand that while the devil wants to use troubles that overflow and crowd you to defeat you, God wants to use the same troubles to develop you.

    # Response 3. Rely on God, Believe He will help

You who do not believe that the LORD our God can help you through the trouble you are facing and are overflowing with, James 1:8 NLT says about such people that
"They can't make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do." (James 1:8 NLT)
In troubles, your reliance must be on God and not yourself. let your science and all you do be based on the reliance on your reliance on God. Ask God, sincerely believe and expect Him to answer without doubting Him at all. This is justified in Psalms 116:6-7 GW

"The LORD protects defenseless people. When I was weak, he saved me. Be at peace again, my soul, because the LORD has been good to you." (Psalms 116:6-7 GW)
Whenever you are faced with an overflow of troubles you have to say to yourself "Relax" as you fully rely on God for your help in your time of hopelessness.

    # Response 4. Refuse to quit, remember God's promises

    See James 1:12 GW:
"Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." (James 1:12 GW)
You have to want not to quit for once you endure with such faithfulness of trusting in God for your help up to the end of your overflowing troubles crowded on you then you will overcome with the help of our the LORD our God. Do not, in other words, waste your sorrows, tears, groans, sufferings, troubles. God wants to use your tears and sorrows and troubles to give you hope, victory, smiles and the success you deserve. Instead, ask questions that matter in such trying times of troubles befalling you.

    ASK:

    # Question 1. Will you turn to God for help in this time of troubles so as for me to receive the promise

    # Question 2.  Will you let God teach you through the troubles and you allow yourself to learn from them?

Once you agree to the questions, then you will receive the reward of success amidst the troubles. Your faith will have allowed you to overcome the troubles with the help of the LORD our God.
