FAST AND BREAK NOW: DAY 07 of 7: Pray for Spiritual Stagnation and Lukewarmness (Revelation 3:15–16 AMP)

Revelation 3:15–16 (AMP):
"I know your deeds; I know that you are neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless) and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]."

Fasting Day 7: Praying for Spiritual Stagnation and Lukewarmness

On this final day of our fasting journey, we come before the Lord to pray for the release of spiritual stagnation and lukewarmness in our lives. These conditions can hinder our growth and effectiveness in the Kingdom of God, preventing us from experiencing the fullness of His presence and power. However, through repentance, surrender, and the work of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome spiritual stagnation and embrace a fervent, passionate relationship with God. Hallelujah!

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In Revelation 3:15–16 (AMP), Christ Jesus speaks to the church in Laodicea, saying, "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless) and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]." These powerful words remind us of the dangers of spiritual stagnation and lukewarmness. As believers, you are called to be fervent and passionate in our pursuit of God. Hallelujah!

Revelation 3:15–16 teaches us that being lukewarm is spiritually useless and displeasing to God. It is a wake-up call to examine your hearts and evaluate the level of your commitment and devotion to God. Instead of being complacent and stagnant, you are called to be on fire for God, fully surrendered to His will and purpose. Hallelujah.

To overcome spiritual stagnation and lukewarmness, you must first acknowledge and repent of any areas in your lives where you have become complacent or indifferent towards God. This may involve confessing your lack of passion, zeal, or dedication to Him and asking for His forgiveness and renewal. Hallelujah!

As you break your fast and pray today, remember Revelation 3:15–16, which challenges us to be either hot or cold in our spiritual walk. Let us pray for a renewed passion and fervor for God, desiring to be fully surrendered and useful in His Kingdom.

Dealing with spiritual stagnation and lukewarmness can teach us several lessons:

First, seek God's presence and power through prayer and worship. Psalm 63:1-2 declares, "O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory." By intentionally seeking God's presence and immersing yourself in worship, you invite His Spirit to revive and ignite your heart.

Second, cultivate a hunger for God's Word and a desire to grow in knowledge and understanding of Him. 1 Peter 2:2 encourages us, "as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby." By regularly studying and meditating on Scripture, you nourish your spirits and allow God's truth to transform you from within.

Third, surrender your lives fully to God and His purposes. Romans 12:1-2 urges us, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God." By surrendering your will and desires to God, you open yourself up to His leading and empowerment.

So, today, let us come before the Lord and surrender our spiritual stagnation and LUKEWARMNESS. Let us pray.

Let us all pray,

Heavenly Father, I come before You today, acknowledging that I have allowed spiritual stagnation and lukewarmness to creep into my life. I confess that I have not sought Your presence and power as diligently as I should, and my soul has become dry and thirsty on this journey. But, Lord, I desire to change. I long for a renewed passion and hunger for You.

According to Your Word in Revelation 3:15–16, I recognize that being lukewarm is displeasing to You. I repent for my complacency and ask for Your forgiveness. Help me to turn away from this lukewarm state and seek You with all my heart, just as the psalmist in Psalm 63:1–2 declares. I want to thirst for You, to long for You, and to find satisfaction in Your presence alone.

Father, I ask that You cultivate within me a hunger for Your Word, as mentioned in 1 Peter 2:2. May I desire the pure milk of Your Word, that I may grow in knowledge and understanding of You. Open my eyes to the truths within Scripture and let them nourish my spirit, transforming me from within.

I surrender my life fully to You, Lord, as Romans 12:1–2 instructs. I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. I choose not to conform to the ways of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Help me to discern Your good, acceptable, and perfect will for my life.

In the mighty name of Christ Jesus, I pray for a breakthrough in my spiritual life. I ask for Your Holy Spirit to revive and ignite my heart. Remove any hindrances that have kept me stagnant and lukewarm. Fill me with a burning passion for You, Lord, that cannot be quenched.

Thank You, Father, for hearing my prayer. I trust that You will answer according to Your perfect will. In Christ Jesus' mighty name, I have prayed. Amen.

In conclusion, remember the dangers of spiritual stagnation and lukewarmness as highlighted in Revelation 3:15–16. We are called to be fervent and passionate in our pursuit of God, fully surrendered to His will and purpose. To overcome these conditions, you must seek God's presence and power through prayer and worship, cultivate a hunger for His Word, and surrender your lives fully to Him. As we break our fast and pray, let us strive to be on fire for God, desiring to be fully surrendered and useful in His Kingdom. Please give your thanksgiving offertory, tithe, and sow our Healing seeds as an act of faith and obedience.
