Building a Stronger Connection with God Almighty

John 3:3 (AMP):

"Jesus answered him, 'I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.'"

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

In John 3:3, Christ Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about the necessity of being born again to enter the kingdom of God. This spiritual rebirth signifies a transformation, renewal, and sanctification of the individual. It is through this new birth that we can establish a stronger connection with God Almighty. Hallelujah!

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, let us explore ways of building a stronger connection with our Heavenly Father. In today's world filled with distractions, wars, hatred, and temptations, it is crucial for you as believers to deepen your relationship with God, fostering a stronger sense of faith, trust, and guidance in navigating your journey through life.

To deepen your relationship with God, let's look at three guiding points on how you can build a stronger connection with our Heavenly Father:

1. Point 1. Start by personally Recognising your Failure to Build a Stronger Connection with God. This failure can be recognised in a. a lack of prioritisation of spiritual growth and b. neglecting your personal relationship with God.

a. Your first failure is usually a lack of Prioritisation of spiritual growth.

It is easy to fail to build a stronger connection with God because you prioritise worldly pursuits over spiritual growth. This failure happens when you allow the busyness of life to consume your time and energy to the extent of leaving you little or no room for God. Matthew 6:33 (AMP) says, "But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also." Check yourself against Matthew 6:33 here and personally recognise your failure to build a stronger connection with God.

b. Your second failure points to Neglecting the Personal Relationship with God:

Many of you today rely solely on religious rituals and traditions, neglecting your personal relationship with God. You go through the motions without truly seeking a deeper connection with God. It is written in James 4:8a (AMP) that, "Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you." Check yourself against James 4:8a here and personally recognise your failure to build a stronger connection with God.

2. Point 2. The second is Exploring the Power of Being Born Again: Do not take Being Born Again for granted. It comes with power, which you need to manifest in a. Spiritual Transformation, and b. Renewed Faith and Trust.

a. First, Be Born again and experience the power of Spiritual Transformation:

Being born again brings about a spiritual transformation within you. Being born again is a renewal of your hearts and minds, enabling you to experience the kingdom of God in a profound way. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) puts it that, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]." You must be Born again to experience, through the power of the Holy Spirit, Spiritual Transformation.

b. Second, experience Renewed Faith and Trust in God:

Through the new birth of Being born again, your faith and trust in God are strengthened. You begin to rely on God more fully, knowing that God is your source of guidance, provision, and protection. This is made clear in Proverbs 3:5–6 (AMP), where it is written, "Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]." You must be Born again to experience consistently Renewed Faith and Trust in God.

3. Point 3: Nurturing a Stronger Connection with God: This does come with a consistent personal effort of a. Prayer and Communion, and b. Studying God's Word.

a. First, Prayer and Communion:

Regular and heartfelt prayer is essential to building a stronger connection with God. It is through prayer that you communicate with God, sharing your joys, concerns, and desires. Philippians 4:6-7 (AMP) emphasises that, "Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]." Please pray all the time and in all circumstances. Don't only pray for your worries. Connect with God in every circumstance and situation.

b. Second is Studying God's Word:

Regularly immersing yourselves in the study of God's Word allows you to understand God's character, God's promises, and God's will for your lives. Studying God's Word deepens your knowledge of God and strengthens your connection with God. This is not new, as it is written about the word of God in Psalm 119:105 (AMP) that "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Make an effort to study the word of God all the time, and every time you can intentionally avail yourself of it.

I believe it is now clear to you that building a stronger connection with God Almighty is a lifelong journey. Through the power of the new birth, you can experience a spiritual transformation, renewed faith, and a deeper sense of trust in God. Building a stronger connection with God Almighty requires prioritising your relationship with God, seeking God wholeheartedly, and nurturing that connection through prayer and studying God's Word. Hallelujah!

I conclude and ask you to commit yourselves today to building a stronger connection with God. Prioritise God above all else, seeking God's kingdom and righteousness first. Come close to God with contrite hearts, knowing that God will draw near to you. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, let you experience the transformation and renewal that come from Being born again.

As you embark on this journey, remember to pray fervently, pouring out your hearts to God and seeking God's guidance and provision. Let us immerse ourselves in the study of God's Word, allowing God's Word to illuminate our path and shape our understanding of God. May your lives be a testament to the power of a strong connection with God Almighty. Let us pray for those who feel they need a stronger connection with God.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You today, seeking to build a stronger connection with You. I acknowledge my failures and shortcomings in prioritising my relationship with You. I ask for Your forgiveness and guidance as I embark on this journey of deepening my faith and trust in You.

Lord, I thank You for the power of the new birth and for the transformation and renewal that it brings. Help me to fully embrace this new life in Christ Jesus and to live in accordance with Your will. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may experience a deeper sense of faith, trust, and guidance in my life.

Father, I commit myself to prayer and communion with You. Teach me to pray fervently, to pour out my heart to You, and to trust in Your provision and guidance. Help me to be diligent in studying Your Word so that I may know You more intimately and understand Your plans and purposes for my life.

Lord, I pray that my life may be a reflection of the strong connection I have with You. May others see Your love, grace, and power at work in me. Use me as a vessel of Your light and truth, that I may bring glory to Your mighty name. In Christ Jesus' mighty name, I have prayed, Amen.

You have been Church-Built and healed. Please voluntarily and sincerely give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love in all circumstances. This is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Pray, tithe, and sow healing seeds to Him, who can do immeasurably more than you ask or imagine. Act in faith and obedience, and be doers of the word, not just hearers.
