Being Born Again

John 3:3 (AMP):

Jesus answered him, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God."

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

John 3:3 is part of a conversation between Christ Jesus and Nicodemus, a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews. Nicodemus came to Christ Jesus, seeking answers about eternal life and the kingdom of God. Christ Jesus responds by explaining the necessity of being born again to enter the kingdom of God. Being born again refers to a spiritual transformation, a renewal of the inner self, and sanctification through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What Being Born Again Is and Is Not Today:

In today's world, the term "born again" has been misunderstood and misused. Some may think it simply means joining a religious group or going through a ritual. This is not being born again. Being born again is not about external actions or religious affiliation. This too is not being born again. So, What is being born again? Being born again is a personal, inward transformation that occurs when you surrender your life to Christ Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you. Hallelujah!

Being born again is not about following a set of rules or adhering to a list of dos and don'ts. It is not about earning salvation through your own efforts or good deeds. This too is not being born again. Being born again  is a supernatural work of God's grace in your life, where God forgives your sins, cleanses you, and gives you new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

How do you be born again?

Today, we explore the profound truth of being born again. Being born again holds the key to eternal life and a transformed existence in Christ Jesus. Are you a long-time believer or someone seeking answers? Whether you are a long-time believer or someone seeking answers, I invite you to open your heart and mind to the life-changing message of being born again.

Here are three points on "How to Be Born Again":

1. Point 1: Recognise the Need for Spiritual Transformation

To be born again, you must first recognise your need for a spiritual transformation. We are all born with a sinful nature, separated from God. Romans 3:23 (AMP) reminds us, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Acknowledging your sinfulness and your inability to save yourself is the first step towards being born again.

2. Point 2: Believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Being born again requires placing your faith in Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. John 3:16 (AMP) declares, "For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and only] begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Saviour] shall not perish but have eternal life." You must believe that Christ Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose again, offering us salvation and eternal life.

3. Point 3: Surrender and Receive the Holy Spirit

To be born again, you must surrender your life to Christ Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 (AMP) states, "And Peter said to them, 'Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptised, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" Through repentance, baptism, and a genuine surrender to Christ Jesus, you receive the Holy Spirit, who empowers you to live a transformed life.

In conclusion, therefore, remember that being born again is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey of growth and transformation in Christ Jesus. Therefore even if you are a long-time believer, always recommit your life to Christ Jesus. Being born again is an invitation to experience the abundant life that Christ Jesus offers. If you desire to be born again today, I encourage you to pray and invite Christ Jesus into your heart. Surrender your life to Christ Jesus, and Christ Jesus will transform you from the inside out.

Fill me with your Holy Spirit, empowering me to live a transformed life. Thank you for the gift of being born again and the hope of eternal life. In Christ Jesus' mighty name, I believe I am now born again. Amen.
