Commit your Life to your LORD God Now |
Praise God Church!!
I call you child of God to always
come to God with your whole heart. Why?
It so happened that we were in a prayer session and as we prayed all people
were touched except for three: One on all prayer points (General prayer
requests – home supply and personal prayer requests – personal needs) and the
two on a particular prayer point (Personal prayer requests – personal needs). The
question was: Why did all the others get
a response and just the three miss out on the touch of God? As I prayed
wondering why, the Lord revealed to me that most of us, while we come to the
house of prayer for prayers, our bodies are physically in the house of prayer
yet most importantly our hearts, our minds and our souls are somewhere else.
Let us understand it better on a
case by case basis first before we may fully explore how the LORD expects you to
commit your whole heart to Him. Here are the two case scenarios:
In
case scenario one (we prayed for general prayer requests – Home supplies): This case had just one gentleman not touched by the touch of
God. It so happened that he was troubled and also still in his mind he
never thought he needed the home supplies since he was not living by himself
other than being reliant on the people who gave him food supplies and shelter. Why he never got a response? In his
mind, he thought for him to pray for the home supplies, he needed to be in
need. He thought he needed to be the one depended on or he needed to have been
autonomous so as to be motivated to pray for home supplies. This was wrong, little
did he know that in prayer you do not only pray for just those needs in your
concentration. You need to understand that in prayer you pray for more than
what you see and everything including what others need that you may not need.
You not needing them does not mean that the others in need of them will not
need them. Since others will need them, it is only a good Christian practice to
stand in the gap and pray for them. What
of case scenario two.
In
case scenario two (we prayed for personal prayer requests – Personal needs): This case had three people not touched by the touch of God.
Of those not touched in this case scenario included the same disturbed
gentleman noted above and two ladies. In this particular case; In the case of the gentleman: He said his mind had drifted
to whatever he had written on the prayer request and he was complaining to God
why he had taken too long to respond to his prayer request as well as doubt
that filled his heart. This was wrong
praying. In the case of
the ladies: One of the ladies realized
that her heart had drifted from the prayer house back away to her village home,
it also went away focusing her on her trials and worries and she did not even
know why it happened. This too was wrong
praying. The other lady just found herself focusing
her prayers on her prayer request and worries, yet again she felt not
emotionally attached to her praying. She said she was listening to what I
prayed as well as what others prayed as she prayed on the same. This was also wrong praying.
Where was the problem that caused them not to be touched? Child of
God, note that much as the three people all prayed, their
hearts were not wholly focused on God, their hearts were focused on
getting quick miracles, they were absent minded, they tested God with their impatience
as they complained that god had taken long to respond to their prayers, they
were not worshiping God much as they were present in the prayer house – they
were mentally in their villages and picturing their situations, they were not
even listening from God. So how must you
commit your whole heart to God for his favor? There are 12 interrelated
ways in which you have to wholeheartedly commit yourself to God so that all
goes well with you and you enjoy a long life:
- Be careful to Obey Gods commands, laws and regulations for your own prosperity and well-being
- Fear the LORD your God as long as you live
- Listen and Hear from your LORD God alone
- Love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength
- Keep righteous by wholeheartedly obeying all of God’s commands
- Always repetitively talk about the commands and Good News of God wherever you are and wherever you go
- Remind yourself of God’s commands and Good News to embrace yourself for God’s Favor and blessing
- Always Respect, humble yourself and Serve the LORD your God with holy fear
- Worship only the LORD your God and never use His name on false gods
- Do not test the LORD with complaints and doubts about Him
- Always do what is right and good in the LORD your God’s sight to conquer and succeed
- Always be thankful and praise the LORD your God for His amazing power
Be careful to Obey Gods commands, laws and regulations for your own prosperity and well-being.
Deuteronomy
6:1 NLT informs you that the commands, laws and regulations of the
LORD your God are taught to you so that you may obey them. As a Christian, do
not just read the Bible, our LORD expects you and me to go beyond reading what
is in the Bible, God tells us to obey by putting in action what we are taught
in the Bible.
Fear the LORD your God as long as you live
The Bible continues to show you
that to obey the LORD our God you have to fear Him as well. Deuteronomy 6:2 NLT reveals
to you that as a humble Christian you are expected to behave in the face of God
with holy fear since the breath you breathe and whatever keeps you alive is because
of the mercy of God. It is consequently clear that had it not been because God
breathes life in you, you would not be alive. So because your life is valuable
to God, you and your children and grandchildren are expected to fear the LORD
your God as long as you live.
One of the reasons you fail to be
responded to in prayer is when you present yourself to God through prayer with
disrespect. Disrespect in form of divided attention, disrespect in form of
doubt, disrespect in form of complaining – impatience – and unbelief while
praying.
Listen closely to everything the LORD says and Hear from the LORD your God alone
Child of God, refuse to have any
divided attention when following God. Everything your Bible says is the way the
LORD wants you to follow Him. To listen you must want to surrender your mind to
be filled with Gods wisdom for understanding and your heart to be allowed to closely
obey God. In Deuteronomy 6:3 NLT it is revealed that as a child of God, you
must listen closely to everything said to you from God. To do so you must be
careful to Obey so that all goes well with you: This includes having many
children for you who has less yet you need more and you who has none at all, and
food supplies because they were long promised to you by God through your past believing
ancestors. When you listen to the LORD
our God, you pay close attention to every word of God as is in the Bible.
Some of you come to the face of God
with destructions. Refuse to be in the face of God with anything that denies you
to hear and obey the Living God. Surrender your ears to the LORD to avoid
having the ears and you fail to use them to hear. Failure to hear from God
causes you to believe in idols, have bad dreams provoked by the devil’s demons
and wicked spirits, and fail to remember your dreams, argue or contradict the
word of God and so on. As such I urge you to submit your ears to the Living
God. That is why Deuteronomy
6:1 NLT pleads with you to “Hear..! That The LORD is our
God, the LORD alone.” Therefore
we must want to refuse to be confused by the devil by submitting ourselves to
the LORD our God so that He alone allows us to Hear from Just Him. Allow the
LORD our God to do His work in you by submitting your ears to Him, by refusing
to be destructed by the devil. When you hear from the LORD our God, you are
allowed by God himself to remember and make out meaning of the word of God as
intended for you by the LORD our God.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength
Love is a gift from God to you that
no one must ever take away. Once anyone denies you your right to love, no one can
ever fully repay back love to another person except with the intervention of the
LORD our God Himself. Deuteronomy
6:5 NLT directs that: “… you must love the
LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.” When you love the LORD your
God with all your heart, God allows you to always want and yearn to obey Him at
all costs. When you love the Lord your God with all your soul, God allows you to
always be filled with the Holy Spirit and be controlled by Himself at all times
day and night. And when you love the LORD your God with all your strength, God
always takes away fear – weakness – timidity and always makes you full of His
power, comfort and self-control.
Keep righteous by wholeheartedly obeying all of God’s commands
You are expected to follow every
word of God because it is a command, a law and a regulation for you to follow. Deuteronomy 6:25 NLT says “we are righteous
when we obey all the commands the LORD our God has given us.” You are
not expected to choose what to follow and not to follow in the word of God –
everything in the word of God must be followed by you because it is meant well
for you and He is your creator and only one true living God. Deuteronomy 6:6 NLT directs
that you must commit yourself wholeheartedly to all the commands that come your
way from God as given to you. This makes you to be for God and it denies the
devil any penetration in your life as it allows God to fill your life with His
power to reject the devil and all the devil’s strongholds from your life.
Always repetitively talk about the commands and Good News of God wherever you are and wherever you go
Let your comfort in any situation
be brought about by talking about the word of God which is the Good News all
the time and everywhere. Deuteronomy
6:7 NLT directs you to always repeat God’s commands again and again to
your children, that you must talk about God’s commands whether you are at your
home, away on any journey, and whether you are lying down or getting up. The
more you talk about your God, the better you learn from him and the more you
trust and appreciate Him as your creator. When the word of God is always at
your heart – day and night and everywhere you go, you deny the devil from deceiving
you as the Holy Spirit will be full on you to refuse the penetration of any
evil spirit into your life.
Refuse to forget God and remind yourself of God’s commands and Good News as a way to embrace yourself for God’s Favor and blessing
The LORD your God has not given you
a Spirit of forgetfulness. You must be able to remember at all times. Once you
find yourself forgetful, then the devil is working in you and you must get
yourself closer to the LORD your God on realizing this. When you get closer to the
LORD your God, He too gets closer to you and provides for you, and protects you
and your household from the devil’s wrong doings in your life. To keep yourself
closer to God, Deuteronomy
6:8-9 NLT shows that you must tie God’s commands and Good News to either
your head as a reminder or wear them on your forehead, or write them on the
doorposts and gates of your house. Once you reject the wicked spirit of
forgetfulness by always reminding yourself of God’s commands and Good News, then
your LORD God will eventually bless you. Deuteronomy 6:12 NLT warns you to be careful not to forget the
LORD for it is the LORD your God who can rescue you and has always rescued you from
slavery. Deuteronomy 6:10-11
NLT clearly shows you that when you remember God and refuse to forget
Him, then your LORD God allows you to be brought into large prosperous property
you never build, overflow of supplies and an abundance of rich stock you never
produced, have water and food you never labored for or planted.
Always Respect, humble yourself and Serve the LORD your God with holy fear
Never relate the LORD your God to any
other authority because He is above all, and the fear you express to Him must
be above them all. The LORD your God is above you, your children, your father,
your mother, angels, life and death, the devil, name it. Deuteronomy 6:13 NLT orders
that, “you must fear the LORD your God and serve him.” More so when
serving the LORD in a state when you have taken an oath that He is your LORD
and Savior and have accepted to serve Him by being born again, after such oath,
you are directed to fear the LORD your God by using only His name. This way you
will always be serving the LORD your God with holy fear.
Worship only the LORD your God and never use His name on false gods
The LORD your God lives amongst you
and that is why you are alive and breathing. For the fact that He has allowed
you to live, you must worship only Him and no false god who never created you
at all. Deuteronomy 6:14-15
NLT emphasizes this fact where it states that, “you must not worship any of
the gods of neighboring nations, for the LORD your God, who lives among you, is
a jealous God. His anger will flare against you and wipe you from the face of
the earth.” This means that once
you serve and worship only the LORD your God alone, your life and days on the
face of earth are increased for you to live long.
Do not test the LORD with complaints and doubts about Him
Complaints and excuses only mean
you refuse to follow instructions given to you from the LORD your God. Complaining
to God is disobedience, is rebellion, it is refusing to be humble in the face
of God. It is to this fact that Deuteronomy
6:16 NLT warns you not to test the LORD your God as you always do and
did. To avoid complaining, Deuteronomy
6:17 NLT advises that you must instead carefully obey the LORD your God
at all costs. In other words, carefully follow all Gods directions, requirements
and laws without any doubt or rejection or compromise.
Always do what is right and good in the LORD your God’s sight to conquer and succeed
Are you that person who tries many
things and nothing seems to go well with you? Are you that person who never
achieves or has never achieved anything good for yourself? If you are that
person, then start doing what is right and good in the face of God no matter
what your friends, neighbors, family members, children or any human being says
or thinks of you. Deuteronomy
6:18 NLT advises you to “do
what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so all will go well with you.”
Once you do right and good, the LORD
your God allows you to have success in all you seek and search for – if it is
land for instance, God will allow you to step on any land, claim it, own and
occupy it even with no money as He himself makes the owners to want to
surrender it to you and in turn you own it by the grace of God as your LORD God
will have purchased if for you for always doing right and good in His face. The
same applies to Jobs, Marriages, Relationships, and Careers, name it. So do
right in the face of God and wherever you go you will be allowed by the power
and grace of the LORD your God to lead, take, overcome and succeed no matter
what hurdles you may have to go beyond as set before you.
Once you do right therefore, Deuteronomy 6:19 NLT argues
that “you will drive out all the enemies living in your land, just as the
LORD said you would.” That means in whatever you do you will not just
succeed but rather you will also conquer. In this case wherever you go, if it
is a job and you send you application for instance, you will not just succeed
in getting that job but rather if the job was occupied by someone who was not
worshiping God rightly, God will by His mighty power cause for the person in
that job position to leave it for you and as such you will have conquered by
driving them out of a job that was already occupied and your success would be
because of God’s works in you as opposed to your personal efforts. As such you conquer
all your enemies be it contracts, bids, name it just because the LORD your God
promised it long to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that you would.
Always be thankful and praise the LORD your God for His amazing power
God expects you to show your
appreciation of His amazing power as your protector, redeemer, creator, and
only true living God for generations after generations. This is why the
commands, laws and regulations are important to follow with no question for
they emphasize the amazing power of the LORD your God. This is emphasized in Deuteronomy 6:20-24 NLT which
shows that in the future when your children ask for the meaning of the
commands, laws and regulations given to us the LORD our God, it is directed
that through praising the amazing power of the LORD your God, you must tell
your children that you were once slaves but the LORD your God brought you out
with amazing power, and that before your eyes the LORD has done and did
miraculous signs and wonders, dealing terrifying blows to protect and redeem
you against the enemy and all his people, and that he saved you with his
amazing power to bless you with what He had solemnly promised to give your believing
ancestors, and that the LORD your God commands you to obey all His laws and to
fear Him for your own prosperity and well-being. Praising God as such must be a
daily normal for your day to day living with your children and everywhere you
go.
