Dealing with someone who hates you

Praise God church!!

I believe that just like most of us, you too have dealt with or are dealing with hate in all its forms: That is to say you are always dealing with dislikes, detestations, disgusts, revulsions, distastes, animosities, aversions, name it all. These are in relatives, friends, the community, and even within families. Today I encourage you to deal with hate by defeating the fear and bitterness spirit (that usually manifests on haters.

Bitterness comes with manifested and yet to be manifested:
  • envy, jealousy, greed, resentment, spite, human desire, unpleasantness, anger, hostility, cynicism

# Fear also comes with both manifested and yet to be manifested:
  • anxiety, distress, fright, panic, dread, horror, suffering, pain, sorrow, grief, agony, misery, ache

Either you or someone you know could be hated, rejected or left, disliked, cursed, and bewitched. Whatever it is you or a friend is going through right now, and you don’t even know what to do! It tends to always bother you and you now live with it to the extent that you now thought the hatred is a way of life yet it is not what a godly person should embrace;

By thinking hate is a way of life, you have found yourself behaving in such a way that:
  • You find you have just resorted to pretending!
  • You have put a wall of disguise yet on the inside you are ever hurting!
  • Everyone seems to have deserted you!
  • You seem not to find any help from anyone you once thought would help!
  • You have tried everything in your human mind and nothing seems to be of any help!
  • Now you are stranded and hoping to resort to the unthinkable!

Child of God! Today let us overcome hate through Jesus Christ and the word of God's guide together. Once you are at the extent of thinking all sorts of unthinkable things, I tell you to lose no hope, and pick up the fight afresh with total dependency on and faith in our LORD God. If you thought you had done everything in vain, I tell you right now that the battle to your victory just got started and you can only win it through our Lord Jesus Christ. According to 2 Timothy 1:1 NIV "the promise of life is found in Jesus Christ" so pick up your lost hope and start a new battle in which you must emerge victor with total dependency on our Lord Jesus Christ and faith in our LORD God. Now refuse to withdraw to the wicked! I tell you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ to refuse to give up when dealing with any wicked person who hates or even just rejects you with no weighty explanation. Paul tells you in  2 Timothy 1:7 NIV that, "God didn't give us a spirit that makes us weak and fearful. He gave us a spirit that gives us power and love. It helps us control ourselves." So according to 2 Timothy 1:8 NIV don't be ashamed to act in witness of exposing good deeds as a discipleship act in a peaceful way of dealing with evil and standing as a witness of what our Lord Jesus Christ is doing in you. Once you act in such act of peace gifted to you by Jesus Christ and accept to carry on the suffering that comes with hate, you will have joined and qualified for the unseen peace from God and God's mighty power will help you take on all insults or bitterness that sprouts out of hate. I therefore remind you that to get out of hate you must want to have peace, a gift from our Lord Jesus Christ delivered to you and me by the Holy Spirit. for this to happen Paul reminds you in 2 Timothy 1:6 NIV to help God's gift grow. That just as a small spark grows into a fire, allow the spark of the peace God has put in you to grow in order for you to be able to withstand and overcome hate. This gift has since been on you from the time you gave your life to Jesus Christ. Paul shows in 2 Timothy 1:6 NIV that God put his gift in you when you accepted our Lord Jesus Christ in your life and hands of blessing were placed on you.

Child of God! Know it today that you are not alone going through such trial and sorrow. Therefore also understand that you will overcome hate just as those who suffered the same before you did go through it in these ways:
  1. Know what you want to achieve
  2. Be resilient and firmly face the hate with the goodness needed for all of you to walk together in peace
  3. Choose intentionally and willingly to honor God's will for you to overcome fear and bitterness which manifest hate
  4. Draw closer to the hater to intentionally understand why they act the way they do
  5. Be kind and always do good for your haters if you are to defeat the hate on them
  6. Embrace God's power, patience and self control
  7. Have hope - Focus on being blessed out of all the hate you face
  8. Listen and hear for God's message of peace and comforting love for you
  9. Pray for the hater to be blessed so that you also be redeemed

1.  Know what you want to achieve:

Child of God! Know what you want to achieve and be determined to make up your mind to follow what is right and good. Once you know the hurdles to overcome and you persist to emerge the victor, with a godly attitude you will emerge on the winning side.

The story of the Moab women (Ruth and Orpah) and their mother-in-law, Naomi (Elimelech’s widow left with two sons: Mahlon and Kilion who also died) in Ruth 1:2-18 NIV teaches you to be resilient. Elimelech and his sons having been Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah, now that they had died, while Naomi was in Moab, she heard that the Lord had helped his people. God had begun to provide food for them again. So Naomi and her daughters-in-law prepared to go from Moab back to Naomi’s home. Ruth and Orpah went with her. While they (Ruth, Orpah and Naomi) had started out on their way to the land of Judah, Naomi said to Ruth and Orpah, “Both of you go back. Each of you go to your own mother’s home. You were kind to your husbands, who have died…” Ruth and Orpah replied Naomi and said to her, “We’ll go back to your people with you.” But Naomi insisted and said to Ruth and Orpah, “Go home, my daughters. Why would you want to come with me?  …Go home, my daughters. …No, my daughters. My life is more-bitter than yours. The Lord’s powerful hand has been against me! …Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye. But Ruth held on to her.” Ruth replied, “Don’t try to make me leave you and go back. Where you go I’ll go. Where you stay I’ll stay. Your people will be my people. Your God will be my God. …I won’t let anything except death separate you from me.”

When you know what you want, you make up your mind no matter how much strain you have to withstand. Naomi realized that Ruth had withstood her bitterness and had made up her mind to go with her regardless. By Ruth responding to Naomi's threats and insults in an unexpected way, Naomi realized Ruth was not to be pushed away with hate any longer. Once you show the hater that the grace period of hate is over and that regardless of the hate efforts you stand for peace, the hater will be forced to love peace and hate evil themselves. Because of this, Naomi was forced by the behavior of Ruth to swallow her bitterness. So Naomi stopped trying to make Ruth go back. And they had to go along together. You too should win your hater to the side of peace, joy and love. If Ruth did it, God uses Ruth to show you that once you relate to what peace did, you too will overcome any sort of hate in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Child of God refuse to be hated for any reason or rejected for no weighty reason, like Ruth:
  • When you know what is good for you refuse to be separated from it. God had pardoned Naomi’s people. God had redeemed Naomi's people from famine and now he had availed food for them. Ruth saw life and refused to let go of the life she had foreseen at Naomi's home, she was so determined that she accepted Naomi's people to be her people and Naomi's Living and providing God to be her God.
  • Always find what is right and good to stick with. When Naomi asked why Ruth and Orpah would want to go with her. Ruth stack to the good reason. A reason strong enough to emphasize peace for both you the hated and the hater will always overcome hate. Ruth stack to the God of Naomi who pardoned and provided and God allowed her to overcome the hate from Naomi.
  • Refuse to be separated from someone through whom you’ll find your peace by seeking the true God they serve. Ruth refused to be separated from Naomi’s God, she refused to be made to leave and go back. She made up her mind and refused to be rejected regardless of the bitterness Naomi felt. A hateful person easily gives up once she finds you stand for peace and good deeds even when treated with hate.

Much as Orpah weakened and easily accepted to be rejected, while Orpah was easily pushed into fear and forced to lose control by giving up and leaving, Ruth on the differing side refused to be rejected by sticking to the self-discipline and control as she responded to Naomi by ignoring whatever insults and threats thrown at her with absolute boldness and no fear at all. You too are not alone, you too must ignore the bitterness of whoever is rejecting or hating you. If you approach hate with fear it will overcome you. If you approach hate with self discipline and total firmness in our Lord Jesus Christ, hate will run away from you and you will overcome it from whoever tried or tries to bring it to you. For as long as there is something godly and worth sticking around for, refuse to be rejected. Child of God I tell you this, once you realize that the person who is hating you is bitter is on the side where the living God is availed and is the one standing in the pathway or the heart of your peace and provision, please firmly and through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ refuse to easily give up like Orpah did and firmly tolerate all the hater's bitterness just like Ruth did because once you tolerate a hater you in whatever circumstances you always will emerge the beneficiary with the favor of God on you to be happy, joyful, peaceful and all that you would have gone though will only reflect as a preparation you went through for whatever you enjoy at the end of it all. See Ruth insisted on staying with Naomi, Ruth made up her mind and Naomi stopped urging her to go back. You too must refuse to be hated and rejected or sent back in whatever ways. Tolerate all bitterness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Once you make up your mind never to be hated or rejected or sent back in anyway, and you stand against it in pursuit of the living providing God, believe me in the power of God through Jesus Christ hate will be prohibited from continuing to happen in your life as God will fan you with his power, grace, mercy and all needed favor for hate to be canceled out of your life.

2.  Be resilient and firmly face the hate with the goodness needed for all of you to walk together in peace

Child of God you need to be resilient in the face of the hate trials and sorrows and with boldness refuse to run away, complain or even have any excuses.

We see in the Bible (Ruth 1) that while Orpah was forced by Naomi's insults and bitterness to fly off the handle, Ruth on the other part refused to be hated and rejected. Ruth faced the insults from Naomi with boldness and stable energy, Ruth refused to be moved against her approval. In Ruth 1:16 NIV Ruth stood her ground and told Naomi, “Don’t try to make me leave you and go back.” And in Ruth 1:18 NIV when Naomi realized that Ruth had made up her mind to go with her, she stopped trying to make her go back. Just as Ruth faced all bitter insults from Naomi and stood her ground not to be pushed around with any untrue complaints and claims, you too for as long as what you are fighting for ends in peace and benefits both you and the hater, for as long as what you are fighting for is godly, for as long as what you are fighting for is right and good, with no shame or shyness persistently stand firmly in the face of insults and fight by sharing peace to every hate. It is only worth enduring hate where you fight to be on the side of God, of peace, of provision, of favor, and of pardon which was long fought for on your behalf long already by our Lord Jesus Christ than to be on the side of evil, curse, limitation, or godlessness.

I understand you could be sad and troubled. When Jesus Christ was yet to be crucified, at the time his death was close, the Bible (Matthew 26:37 NIV) shows that Jesus took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him and Jesus began to be sad and troubled. Therefore just as Jesus Christ had to go through such hate by being sad and troubled, you too should not fear if you feel sad and troubled as a result of hate and rejection. In fact in Matthew 26:38 NIV Jesus said, “My soul is very sad. I feel close to death.” Jesus found himself in your same position. In Matthew 26:39 NIV In facing the cup of suffering, Jesus fell with his face to the ground and said, “My Father, if it is possible, take this cup of suffering away from me. But let what you want be done, not what I want.” Later when Jesus Christ realized the situation was not changing, and in Matthew 26:42 NIV, Jesus Christ again said in prayer that, “My Father, is it possible for this cup to be taken away? But if I must drink it, may what you want be done.” Child of God, some situations are meant for you to face so that you receive the peace and acceptance you desire. Like Jesus Christ faced his cup of suffering, you too as a Christian must face your own cup of suffering to earn the peace you desire with your hold on our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore while you face the situation, go through it by holding yourself onto Jesus Christ so as to endure until you are over and done with the hate.

3.  Choose intentionally and willingly to honor God's will for you to overcome fear and bitterness which manifest hate:

Child of God! Refuse to fear and be overcome by bitterness or be driven by bodily desires by choosing to intentionally and willingly honor God's will for you.

You are not meant to run away from any sort of persecution if it’s the route to doing God’s will and then being freed from the actual burden of persecution, discrimination or hate. Jesus Christ teaches you in Matthew 26:42 NIV that much as Jesus could choose not to take on the cup of suffering, Jesus knew it was the will of God for Jesus himself to drink the cup of suffering, so Jesus Christ intentionally and willingly accepted to drink the cup of suffering and did what God wanted and not what Jesus in the weak human flesh would have wanted for doing what God wanted Jesus Christ to do in the human flesh was the right and good way that gave you and me the freedom we all enjoy today through salvation.

In 1 Samuel 24 NIV, Saul an anointed man of God had become unfair and he spent a lot of time chasing David. Just as different people may want to see you hurt like they themselves, Saul just wanted to see David dead because Saul was fearful and envious of David's increasing favor from the LORD God. As a trial Saul one day walked right where David and his men were hiding without realizing that David was there. 1 Samuel 24:3 KJV shows that Saul “came to the sheep-cotes by the way where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.” Imagine your hater being right in front of you and you have the opportunity to kill him! See child of God, here is where God refuses you to be bitter even to your enemy or hater. David refusing bitterness to get the better of him was the right thing to do as killing Saul then would not have made him right with God or even have peace either.

Approaching hate with bitterness or revenge or a blow-for-blow reaction is an embodiment of allowing the devil to use you and as such by going by such wrong decision and wrong choice you can never escape whatever hate confinement the devil intended to preserve you into. Even though you may want to stop running and hiding, just like David, you must choose intentionally and willingly to honor God instead of your human desires encouraged by the devil with an intention of enticing you to keep in the clamp you intended to come out of. Child of God! refuse to fall into the devil's trap for you. Saul was a King that God had anointed, and David knew that much as he would have wanted to stop running, David could not just kill Saul who was an anointed of God. By David understanding this to be the right thing to do, David denied – rebuked – and fought his initial evil thought – a thought the devil was charming David with to kill Saul.  What is making you fight your hater with a blow-for-blow reaction is the evil thought the devil has trapped you with so that yo fall victim to the hate the devil is haunting you with

You too child of God, just as David defeating the evil thought the devil had trapped him with, much as you could play blow-for-blow with your hater, I encourage you not to react to hate with bitterness and fear, as that is exactly what the devil programs you to react with, instead be encouraged by understanding it like David that God, in such situations of hate allows you the opportunity to refuse to choose charms of the devil and once you accept to do God's will, God leads you into choosing what is right and acceptable to God himself. So choose the Living God and refuse to be bitter or fearful, and let you want to always fight hate with peace that honors God’s will no matter how hurting it may seem.

Know that the hurting will only last for a temporal while. The more you fight such a trial with God’s peaceful means, the better you will come out of it like David did without having to run again. You too must come out of it in a peaceful way acceptable to the one and only living God. As a devoted believer who wants peace, joy and love, for you to attain these you must decide to honor God in every situation of hate and at all times. No matter how difficult it may seem for you to decide, always want to let God’s way be your only way. Because David refused to fall for the devil’s pointed temptation, David was honored by God. You too must refuse to fall for the devil’s plans and schemes to earn God’s planed favor and peace intended for you. You only need patience to endure through. You are not alone, God will walk you through even where you may seem to feel alone, useless and abandoned. I encourage you that just as David, you too can go on with your life without letting your enemies, your critics, and particularly your haters shut you down or force you into making any unintended mistakes that may cost you your life. Regardless of the rejections, threats, insults, now you know you are not the first to go through it, David went through it and God made him overcome, you too stand tall with God and you will overcome.

4.  Draw closer to the hater to intentionally understand why they act the way they do:

Child of God! You can not fight an enemy you do not know. For you to overcome hate, you need to understand the person hating you as haters usually pass on their personal bitterness to the closest surrounding hoping that that would take away their fears. Lets take Saul's case for instance (see 1 Samuel 24 NIV). Saul just got biased and wanted to kill David for fear that David would take Saul's power and authority given the favor God had placed on David. All haters are largely like Saul. Most haters react with self opinionated presumptions based on fear, bias and bitterness which is sprouted from a reason completely dissociated with you the person to whom they choose to share with hate. Most haters usually act the way they do for the fact that they usually have personal concerns with no weighty reason as to why they even hate you. The reasons for hate are usually complacent and based on excuses.

Ordinarily haters will hate you because of:
  • Whatever they hate of themselves that they see you doing better and they have failed to solve themselves yet they shy away to seek your counsel to come to their rescue
  • Whatever they secretly admire of you yet because they assume they are in a superior or inferior position, they prefer to take you on with hate than coming to terms with the situation in reality at hand

What I recommend you do as a child of God in such trial:
  • Walk a mile in the hater’s shoes and see things from their perspective. Do a behavior review on the hater.
  • Refuse to hate the hater. Instead feel sorry for the hater. Welcome the hater instead of fighting the hater.
  • Accept the haters' concerns and help the hater resolve the personal concerns not resolved. Once you do these as well as agree within you to be good to hater in all the haters' concerns regardless of how the hater treats you, I guarantee you, you will come out with the favor of God getting the best out of the hater as opposed to the hate the hater may have have formerly treated you with. For instance:

If they do not greet you – greet them
If they hate you – love them
If they make their mind to hate you – make your mind to love them and stick with them
If they are sorrowful – cheer them up
If they are down and broken – encourage them and extend your sympathies
Where they wanted you dead – pray for them to be saved and blessed by God
Wherever you can help them – help them with gratitude

Believe me child of God, the haters once unceasingly reacted to with the comfort of lovely and good deeds, the hater will be ashamed and in response accept you if they always hated you. The haters will be agreeable with you if they were disagreeable with you as God will encourage them to make peace with you for the goodness you always extended to them whenever they extended hate. The hater will come to terms with the treatment you give to them and want the same for themselves and for this to be the hater will be convinced within conscience to do away with baseless hate and welcome the comfort of the love you extend to them. As such you will have drawn closer to the hater and the hater will have drawn closer to you. Since love is greater and more powerful than hate, the power of love will overcome hate and from then you will live in harmony and peace with your former hater.

5.  Be kind and always do good for your haters if you are to defeat the hate on them:

Child of God! Always be kind to those that hate you regardless of what they do to you as continuously being kind and good to the hater will eventually win the haters over to do what is right and good.

As a devoted Christian and person who wants to stop being hated by any hater or person acting wicked against you, you must be willing to intentionally change behavior by doing the positive opposite of whatever bad things the hater does to you (see Luke 6:35 KJV). When you perform the opposite of the behavior the hater intended of you to behave, this will cause the hater to slow down and reverse their actions by refraining from treating you with hate.

As a believer Jesus Christ expects you to be helpful and kind to people who are unkind to you. So always show kindness to your hater irrespective of whatever bad treatment you receive from the hater. Luke 6:38 KJV shows that what you give will be given back to you. That the same you give will be measured out to you. In other words, whether the hater continues to hate you or not, to win the hater’s heart to the peace intended for you by God, always treat the hater right and good. This will force the hater to stop the hate and by the favor of God you will have reconciled the hater to admire doing good and eventually start actually doing good.

The hater will only be encouraged to start doing good and stopping the hate depending on your behavior of consistently acting back with mercy by doing good to them as a response. Jesus tells you to have mercy, just as your Father our LORD God in heaven has mercy (Luke 6:36 KJV). While Naomi spoke to her two daughters-in-law to “both … go back,” Naomi acknowledged their kindness when she said, “you were kind to your husbands, who have died. You have also been kind to me. So may the Lord be just as kind to you(Ruth 1:8 NIV)." See kindness softens the heart of a hater and forces the hater to rethink their reaction towards you.

You need to understand that how the hater treats and perceives you is a total reflection and extension of how they see and treat themselves. So to stop the hater from seeing you in a way that you are not, you must treat the hater in an ever right and good way. The way you treat the hater should contradict the way the hater treats you. Even when you feel they do not deserve good treatment, treat them as such as they will have been expecting you to treat them with the same hate. Once the hater approves unceasing good treatment from you as opposed to bad treatment to you from the hater, the hater will recognize that all along they treated you wrongly and will want to make right. So by you welcoming the hater irrespective, the hater will embrace the good way taught to us by our Lord Jesus Christ, as the hater will have realized that the good way is intended for all of us to treat each other with peace, love, joy, togetherness, freedom, sharing, and respect at all time, even where you thought the person never deserved it. This act of goodness instilled in us bu our Lord Jesus Christ breaks the power of hate and replaces it with love and care for each other.

Most haters are never kind with themselves, they are harsh with themselves, and they approach circumstances with purely personal motive. So the haters having failed to solve personal concerns, in trying to deal with the concerns, know that the haters will at any opportunity prefer to extend the personal concerns to you others in the closest surroundings in pursuit that on hurting you they resolve the concerns, unfortunately on doing so, their concerns, they realize seem to even get worse. sympathetically, you to whom the hater is projecting all anger, you have nothing to do with your hater's concern. Little does your hater know that projecting a concern to someone not concerned of it at all never takes the hater's feeling of hate or fear away, instead it makes the hater's concern to rapture worse. So to resolve a hater's concern, all the hater must be encouraged to do is humble themselves and allow themselves be comforted and make friends with you the ones they hate. But because they never want to feel ashamed, you who is hated must be kind to the hater to stop the hate. In Ruth 1:2-18 NIV Ruth who was hated by Naomi instead of accepting Naomi’s hate to continue, Ruth refused to be hated and instead responded with love against Naomi’s hate and on Naomi realizing Ruth had made up her mind to love and be kind to her regardless of how much she insulted, threatened and hated her, Naomi was forced by Ruth's humility to stop the hate and instead accepted and loved Ruth. Naomi extended hate to Ruth because inside her it was what she felt, Naomi felt God was bitter with her and as such she also extended hate to Ruth, but once Ruth realized it, Ruth returned love to Naomi and refused to be bitter at Naomi even when Naomi had insulted Ruth and threatened her to go.

Child of God, just like Naomi and Ruth, whoever hates you is not hating you because they want to. There is a bitterness causing them to hate you. So in order to break the bitterness you have and need and ought to always be kind to the  haters no matter how hard it may seem so that by enduring, the hate stops.

You also ought to forgive and stop judging your hater so as to be free yourself. Jesus tells you in Luke 6:37 KJV that, “If you do not judge others, then you will not be judged. If you do not find others guilty, then you will not be found guilty, Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” So be kind and always good to the hater and the hate will all wash away.

6.  Embrace God's power, patience and self control:

Child of God! exercise patience and embrace the baseless hate as a timely slowdown presented to warn you of the hidden opportunity you are meant to refocus on on-wards or risk missing out on everything God intends to bless you with on enduring through the hate trials and sorrows.

While you may not control whatever is thrown at you including hate, God has given you the power to control how to respond back. Since you have no influence on how the hate comes, whichever way it comes, allow yourself to look at hate differently. Refuse to look at hate as hate, look at hate as an indicator of the hidden good you must refocus yourself on so as for you to be fanned into better achievements before you as your new goal. Look at hate on you as an indicator that there are better opportunities beyond what you see that you must brace yourself for by finding a way to cope with the hater and restrain yourself from having excuses, else you will be the one to miss out on the unseen peace hate intends to block you from foreseeing. When Ruth found going with Naomi to be important to her, when Ruth heard that at Naomi's home there was a living God who pardons and takes away famine. This was a good reason for Ruth to stick with Naomi. What Naomi was not seeing, Ruth was seeing. For this good reason worth standing firm for, Ruth found a way of facing Naomi’s hate talk by firmly refusing to go back as was demanded from her by Naomi rather than having excuses. Ruth in Ruth 1:16 NIV said to Naomi, “Don’t try to make me leave you and go back. Where you go I’ll go. Where you stay I’ll stay. Your people will be my people. Your God will be my God.”

By the grace of the power of God upon Ruth, Ruth was able to carry herself with patience and self control in the face of hateful bitter threats from Naomi. For the saving and providing God of Naomi being a good and worthy reason worth staying in the face of hate, Ruth made up her mind to embrace God's power with patience and self control as Ruth decided to go all the way with Naomi through all the hateful bitterness and insults that came with the challenges she had to endure and by the mercy and favor of the LORD God Ruth earned her peace and hateful bitterness and threats for Ruth to go back were no more as Naomi accepted Ruth and could not stop her.

7.  Have hope in the works of God on you - Focus on being blessed out of all the hate you face:

Child of God! Hold firmly to the clarity of choice presented by hate for you to accept what you cannot change and focus your energies on what you can control in response to detach from the hate. You need to look at hate as a price you pay to achieve your goal

Hate is not something you see coming or have control over, but once it happens, you have a choice in how you respond.  Other than Orpah who accepted to leave when she was told to go, like Ruth in Ruth 1:2-18 NIV always focus your choice of sticking with a hater on what you can get from the hater or through the hater such that that your stand for choice must be of so much importance that you can never afford to lose out on no matter the threat before you. Ruth knew she had lost the husband and was left with Naomi and the providing and supporting God of Naomi, so Ruth chose to fight for what was left and not lost. Child of God whenever faced with hate, refuse to focus your attention on what you have lost and focus instead on what is left and look up to what you live for and not what you live on. In God Ruth saw life and that was what was left for her to fight for. Ruth could not bring back her dead husband, so she had to fight for the blessing from God to break the curse of the dead that took her husband by seeking for our LORD God the source of life. By accepting that you can never change or control whatever hate is thrown at you, remember the peace and love important to you and rely on our Lord Jesus Christ. With Jesus Christ, you are not given a spirit of fear and timidity but rather power, love and self-control. In other words you have a choice on the side of your response, so respond with self-control, love and in faith with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:2 NIV says, “Through faith in Jesus we have received God’s grace. In that grace we stand. We are full of joy because we expect to share in God’s glory.” Choose the right and good decision, choose to stay calm by always looking up to God, stay firm to what is important to you regardless of the hate trials and sorrows and through the comfort of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ refuse to be overwhelmed by the hate or insults or wicked behavior hurled towards you. While the hate may be well beyond your control, I tell you your response in well within your control.

Hate should only make you stronger like Ruth. Once you have accepted to stick with the hater, do it with a made up mind of walking through it for the good purpose. So when hate comes your way, instead of sitting back with complaints and excuses, start to look for the opportunities and solutions. As a child of God you do not surrender to hate, instead you be part of the solution for hate by responding to the hater with whatever is right and good irrespective of how they keep hating you. Romans 5:3 NIV says, “We are all full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on.” And Romans 5:4-5 NIV emphasizes that, “The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope. And hope will never let us down. God has poured his love into our hearts. He did it through the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us.” If you are faced with persistent hate and you see no comfort to keep you through as you wait on making good out of bad, then focus on the fact that “we are full of joy in God because of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of him, God has brought us back to himself (Romans 5:11 NIV).” You therefore also need to understand that what keeps you to endure the hate is the fact that “sin entered the world because one man sinned. And death came because of sin. Everyone sinned, so death came to all people (Romans 5:12 NIV).” Therefore since “one man sinned, and death ruled because of his sin.  ... we are even more sure of what will happen because of what the one man, Jesus Christ, has done. Those who receive the rich supply of God’s grace will rule with Christ in his kingdom. They have received God’s gift and have been made right with him (Romans 5:17 NIV).” And what does this mean. It means that “one man’s sin brought guilt to all people. So also one right act made all people right with God. And all who are right with God will live (Romans 5:18 NIV).” Child of God, in hate focus on being right with God by sticking to what is right and good and you will live through the hate to abundance, to unlimited supply, to overflow of joy that had temporarily left you and to happiness.

8.  Listen and hear for God's message of peace and comforting love for you:

Child of God! Be encouraged by hate to obediently listen and hear for God's message of peace and love.

In Isaiah 37:6 NIV the Lord says, “Do not be afraid of what you have heard.” And in Isaiah 37:7 NIV the Lord says, “Listen!” When you are faced with hate, listen for the Lord. If you listen and follow the Lord's lead, God will draw his sword on your behalf.

According to Isaiah 37:15-17 NLT always honor God, want to be listened to and heard and seen by reporting all the words of defiance and hate from your haters to the living God. According to Isaiah 37:19-20 NLT show that you are asking God to rescue you from the evil power directed to you with hate. Direct all hate meant for you to God. Just like in Isaiah 37:14 NIV: “When Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers, he read it. Then he went up to the Lord’s temple. There he spread the letter out in front of the Lord.” You too when faced with hate, show our LORD God everything and the living God that we serve will fight on your behalf to transform the hate into peace, joy and love.

Jesus says in Luke 6:27 KJV that to you who hear him, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.

In Luke 6:28 KJV Jesus also tells you to bless those who call down curses on you.

9.  Pray for the hater to be blessed so that you also be redeemed:

Child of God! Pray for your hater to be right with God.

You are not the first one to be hated. Jesus Christ himself was hated. He was called all sorts of names including being called what he was not and how did he respond.
  • Jesus Christ ignored the haters and continued with his mission. In Luke 6:29 KJV Jesus said that, “Suppose someone hits you on one cheek. Turn your other cheek to him also. Suppose someone takes your coat. Don’t stop him from taking your shirt.” Ignore your hater and continue with your important mission. The hater only intends to distract you.
  • Jesus shows that with the hater you have to act selfless so as to win them over. In Luke 6:30 KJV Jesus tells you to “Give to everyone who asks you. And if anyone takes what belongs to you, don’t ask to get it back.” By being selfless, you teach the haters what they should do to you. In Luke 6:31 KJV Jesus says, “Do to others as you want them to do to you.” When you do good to haters, you will have lent them the comfort of love they ought to have given you but took for granted. It is this guilt that will haunt the hater and encourage the hater to stop the ungodly actions. As such Jesus demands you to act selflessly with a hater and “love your enemies. Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then you will receive a lot in return. And you will be sons of the Most High God. He is kind to people who are evil and are not thankful (Luke 6:35 KJV).” The secret in being kind and selfless to a hater is that whenever you do good to the hater and the hater returns the favor with evil and no thanks, God elevates you who is hated to be closer to God and in that way you earn a lot of favor from God beyond the consumed insults, pain, and tears you endured and endure at the hands of the hater.
  • Jesus Christ prayed for the haters. Pray for your hater to be blessed. In Luke 6:28 KJV Jesus encourages you to pray for those who treat you badly. Pray for all those who persecute you.

According to 1 Samuel 25:26-29 NLT, intercede in prayers for your hater by;
  • Accepting the blame
  • Refuse to approach hate with hate. Do not pay attention to wicked and ill-tempered people
  • Do not take hate by your own hands. Surrender all your haters to be dealt with by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Understand that all your haters are as cursed as their wickedness and ill-temperedness.
  • Intercede with thanksgiving. So you raise your faith in Jesus Christ that He will exchange the hate extended to you with joy, love and peace
  • Seek forgiveness and forgive such that you may have peace from hate
  • Receive God’s reward as you fight hate as a battle of faith
  • Always do right in your entire life whenever faced with hate.
Once you deal with hate in this way, with total faith and dependence on the guide of the Holy Spirit given to us by Jesus Christ, you will always be safe and in the care of our LORD God even if you may be chased by bitter people or even dark forces seeking for your life.

Once you approach hate in this godly peaceful way, you will be secure in God’s treasure pouch! God will guide your pathways and all your haters’ hate will be disappeared like stones shot from a sling! May the good LORD bless and protect you from haters, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

For You who has never given your life to Christ

You do not want to go through this disaster when you are not born again. You are welcome to the life of salvation. Believe me you do not know what the future holds for you in this disaster.

So pray and give YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST say:
My Lord Christ Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I submit my life to you. I confess my sins and ask you to come into my life and save me. I want to know You. I want to learn to trust You. I know I cannot save myself. As of today and now, I ask you into my mind - heart - and soul as I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Please help me in Your name because I believe I am now born again. Amen.
