CHCM WEEKLY HOME FELLOWSHIP [WEEK 18 - 2020]: Praying guide while angry - hurting - frustrated - fearful through this week of the COVID-19 Pandemic

WEEK 18 - 2020  christianhealingchurchministry@yahoo.com

Praise God Church!!

This is meant to help you pray within your homes with the Home Cell Prayer groups you must have created.

This period has been of trial and sorrow and as such the past week has been filled with a number of news about the increase of anger and irritability in our homes around the country during this pandemic. To be specific this pandemic has showcased loss of jobs, breakups in marriages, deaths of people, fights for food, greed, backsliding in praying habits and the wave of witchcraft. Many people are feeling angry, frustrated, irritated and all are wondering why!

It is to this background that I encourage you to pray differently this week. In this week and every time you face trials and sorrows related to any crisis and or conflict please have a faith that comforts you in a crisis or conflict.

With this praying guide, please allow yourself to be helped understand where that anger or annoyance or harsh or nasty or hostile or rage, that irritation comes from; and whether that anger is in yourself or in others AND lets together share the biblical guides for reducing the level of anger in yourself and others.

Have you developed a feeling of short-tempered this week? And gotten more irritable or raged or annoyed or frustrated during this COVID-19 pandemic, If you are part of this, then, I am requesting you to calm down and breath because you have to know that this normal! And There ARE many things to be angry about! The combined factors of being out of work, being quarantined at home, caring for kids out of school, not having enough food supplies, going hungry and starving, the daily fearful news, and all the stressful changes you are going through in a falling situation that had no prior preparation notice is causing heated emotions - including anger or annoyance or rage, irritability, frustration, and being short-tempered. Some people around the world have eventually hung themselves during this pandemic and this makes it a concern for all of us. It’s why CHRISTIAN HEALING CHURCH MINISTRY is here to help you and all of us together to cope as a prayer family!

Let us understand this together: We found this message good to share with everyone you can reach out to in this situation of trial and sorrow and also seeking God. Please share with whoever you can this very practical and helpful message to encourage - comfort - give them a sense of self control and patience and they endure through this pandemic or crisis. To one you share with, this message could be their beginning of a new life with God and to one or another it could be an encouragement needed and timely!

If you feel your faith is seeming not to work and yet even your life seems to be so threatened that you are full of panic and fear - on looking around you are surrounded with news of deaths and quarantine everywhere, then this is your message. Have a faith that comforts you through a crisis or pandemic or conflict with this guide:
1.                 REALIZE
2.                 RESOLVE
3.                 REFLECT
4.                 RELEASE
5.                 RE-PATTERN
6.                 ASK GOD
7.                 PRAY WITH US AND FOLLOW US EVERY WEEK

I recommend you take on each step day after day

1. REALIZE YOUR SITUATION

People with quick tempers cause a lot of quarreling and trouble.” Proverbs 29:22 (GNT) (Good News Translation)
Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace.” Proverbs 15:18 (GNT) (Good News Translation)
People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.” Proverbs 14:29 (NLT) (New Living translation)
People with a hot temper do foolish things; wiser people remain calm.” Proverbs 14:17 (GNT)  (Good News Translation)
Whoever brings trouble upon his family inherits [only] wind, and that stubborn fool becomes a slave to the wise in heart.” Proverbs 11:29 (GW) (God's Word Translation)

2. RESOLVE YOUR SITUATION

A fool expresses all his emotions, but a wise person controls them." Proverbs 29:11 (GW) (God's Word Translation)

              Resolve = Decide in Advance

3. REFLECT ON YOUR SITUATION

Remember this, my dear friends! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry. Human anger does not achieve God's righteous purpose.” James 1:19-20 (GNT) (Good News Translation)

  • BE  QUICK... to Listen
  • BE SLOW... to speak...to get angry

Bloodthirsty people hate anyone who's honest, but righteous people will protect the life of such a person.  Stupid people express their anger openly, but sensible people are patient and hold it back.” Proverbs 29:10-11 (GNT) (Good News Translation)

  • BE SLOW... slow is self-control

It isn't proper for a foolish person to live in great comfort. And it is much worse when a slave rules over princes! A man's wisdom makes him patient. He will be honored if he forgives someone who sins against him. Proverbs 19:10-11 (NIRV) (New International Reader's Version)

     Ask yourself 3 questions
Question 1: WHY ___ Hurt? Frustration? Fear?
Question 2: WHAT ___ Hurt? Frustration? Fear?
Question 3: HOW ___  do you Hurt? are you Frustrated? are you Fearful?

Assess how much the pandemic is affecting you and has affected you

         Then PRAY:

Lord, help me control my tongue; help me be careful about what I say. Take away my desire to do evil or to join others in doing wrong. Don't let me eat tasty food with those who do evil. If a good person punished me, that would be kind. If he corrected me, that would be like perfumed oil on my head. I shouldn't refuse it. But I pray against those who do evil.” Psalm 141:3-5 (NCV) (New Century version)
Wine causes you to make fun of others, and beer causes you to start fights. Anyone who is led down the wrong path by them is not wise. A king's anger is like a lion's roar. Anyone who makes him angry may lose his life. Avoiding a fight brings honor to a man. But every foolish person is quick to argue.” Proverbs 20:1-3 (NIRV) (New International Reader's Version)

4. ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE RELEASE FROM YOUR SITUATION

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26-27 (NLT) (New Living Translation)
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.” Proverbs 15:1 (NLT) (New Living Translation)

Don’t Suppress it . . . Repress it . . . or Express it. CONFESS it!

5. Allow YOURSELF TO BE RE-PATTERNED THROUGH YOUR SITUATION

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2a (NLT) (New Living Translation)
Do not be a friend of one who has a bad temper, and never keep company with a hothead, or you will learn his ways and set a trap for yourself.” Proverbs 22:24 (GW) (God's Word Translation)
Exploit or abuse your family, and end up with a fistful of air; common sense tells you it's a stupid way to live.” Proverbs 11:29 (MSG) (The Message Bible)
You husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly.” Colossians 3:19 (NLT) (New Living Translation)

6. BOLDLY ASK GOD TO PROTECT, CHANGE AND RESTORE YOU FROM YOUR SITUATION

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (NIV) (New International Version)
And may God, the source of patience and encouragement, enable you to have the same point of view among yourselves by following the example of Christ Jesus, so that all of you together may praise with one voice the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6 GNT (Good News Translation)
... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) (New King James Version)
You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.” Matthew 12:34 NLT (New Living Translation)
