Healing A HEART ATTACK

Psalm 34:18 (GNT):

"The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope."

Praise God, Church Family of Faith!

What are the causes of a heart attack? A heart attack can be caused by various factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity, stress, and a sedentary lifestyle. However, in this context, we are addressing a spiritual heart attack or heartbreak.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Sometimes, despite praying for healing from a heartbreak, it may persist and keep coming back. In such cases, it is essential for believers to understand how to position themselves in Christ Jesus for complete healing. Let us look at four points you can consider when healing from a heart attack.

Points to address for healing a heart attack:

1. Trust in God's nearness: Psalm 34:18 reminds us that the Lord is near to those who are discouraged. Recognise that God is close to you in your pain and is ready to save you from your heartbreak. Look to the example of David in Psalm 42:11. Despite feeling downcast and troubled, he encourages himself by putting his hope in God, reminding himself of God's faithfulness and nearness.

2. Seek comfort in God's Word: Turn to the Scriptures for solace and guidance. Meditate on verses like Psalm 147:3, which assures us that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Follow the example of the psalmist in Psalm 119:50, who finds comfort in God's promises and testimonies, clinging to them as a source of hope and healing.

3. Surrender to God's will: Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. Submit your heartbreak to God, acknowledging His sovereignty and seeking His wisdom in the healing process. Reflect on Jesus' example in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:39). Though facing immense heartbreak, Jesus surrenders His will to the Father, trusting in His plan and finding strength in obedience.

4. Embrace forgiveness. Unforgiveness can hinder the healing of a broken heart. Matthew 6:14–15 emphasises the importance of forgiving others so that our Heavenly Father may also forgive us. Draw inspiration from Joseph's story in Genesis 50:20. Despite being betrayed and hurt by his brothers, Joseph forgives them, recognising that God used their actions for a greater purpose. Embracing forgiveness releases the burden of heartbreak and allows healing to take place.

Remember, healing is a process that involves both faith and practical steps. By combining trust in God's nearness with practical actions, you can navigate through the challenges of a heart attack and experience His healing touch in your life.

In conclusion, to heal from a heartbreak, believers must trust in God's nearness, seek comfort in His Word, surrender to His will, and embrace forgiveness. Through prayer and positioning ourselves in Christ Jesus, we can find complete healing from a stubborn heart attack.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I stand before you with a heavy heart, weighed down by the agony of heartbreak. Knowing that you are close to the brokenhearted, I surrender my emotions and wounds to you. Lord, heal me from the depths of my anguish. Please assist me in finding comfort and solace in your words. Give me the courage to forgive those who have wronged me, just as you have forgiven me. Please lead me down the path of healing and restoration. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

You have been Church-Built and healed. Please voluntarily and sincerely give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love in all circumstances. This is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Pray, tithe, and sow healing seeds to Him, who can do immeasurably more than you ask or imagine. Act in faith and obedience, and be doers of the word, not just hearers.
